Hearty Welcome to this digital platform that has been set up to provide all the visitors an insight into the throbbing life of St. Mary’s Sr. Sec. School, Maligaon.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” - a phrase coined by Nelson Mandela resonates deeply in my mind as the school continues to carry on the beautiful mission of moulding the minds, shaping the lives and building dreams of our students. Change, of course starts with the right kind of education. Equipping the students with mere knowledge and information is not enough but preparing the young minds to be conscious, empathetic, ethical, and innovative is imperative to change.

Every change begins with a single step. With our commitment to quality education, we can together inspire CHANGE in the world. It is enough to take the smallest step towards that positive change and thus create a ripple effect in our surroundings, making the world a better place to live in. Let us share the responsibility of nurturing CHANGE –Choosing Honesty Allows New Growth Every day. I once again exhort you with the words of Mahatma Gandhi ‘Be the change that you wish to see in the world’.

Dear teachers, students, parents, friends and well-wishers,

Let me begin my message from the inspiration of Lord Louis Mountbatten, the last viceroy of India who was known for his ability and brilliance in dealing with the most complex problems. During a press conference, one of the journalists asked him the secret of his achievements in dealing with several issues. To this, Lord Mountbatten answered, “The truth is that I am a very ordinary person, and if I have any success, it is only due to hard work and sincerity”. He got a standing applause from everyone present.

Dear friends, success comes, when you get what you want or desire it. The starting point then is to know what you want or desire in life. If you don’t know what you want, the question of getting it does not arise at all. You must therefore have a goal, an objective or a target. You decide your gaol according to your visions, dreams, inclinations, abilities, natural skills, knowledge and needs.

Visualize the image of what you would like to become in life. What appears impossible today will become a reality tomorrow with your determination, dedication, application and self discipline. Know and realize that you and you alone are the master of your destiny and captain of your soul.

Discipline is then, the link between gaols and success. It motivates a person to progress in life. It makes things easy to handle and ultimately brings success in life. Discipline is the staircase by which a person can achieve success. Therefore, I urge all of you to persevere in your endeavour and never give up till you have tried all possible ways. It is the secret of success. Pray that you may develop an attitude of dedication, commitment and hard work which are the basic requirements of a successful person. Above all remember, that an individual can only be successful if she or he strictly lives a healthy and disciplined life.
